THE REDUCTION OF METAL ARTIFACTS USING BAND PASS MEDIAN FILTER ON HEAD CT SCAN

Background: One of the artifacts found on CT scan is a metal artifact. Metal are caused by objects present in patients’ bodies. The file can cover organ that will be evaluated, and it inferred with pixel value (CT number) assessment tissue around metal. Purpose: To determine effect band pass median filter find optimal to reduce head scan. Method: A total 43 samples patients’s files from CT-scan without any contrast were reconstructed using four filters obtained R1, R2, R5, R10 filters. Two radiology specialists assessed for reduction ImageJ application.
